Fuel prices have been revised with effect from midnight Saturday.
The Government Information Department has stated that thereby, one litre of petrol has been increased by Rs. 12 while a litre of diesel has been increased by Rs. 31.
According to a report released by the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation the new price of a litre
of 90 octane petrol is Rs.149 while the new price of a litre of 95 octane petrol is Rs.167.
The report added that the new price of kerosene oil is Rs.106 from its earlier price of Rs.35.
The Ceylon petroleum Corporation has stated that the government has continued to incur losses even though the fuel prices have been revised.
It added that this step was taken to minimise the effects faced by the country’s economy
